This 150 year old soaring brick church, built by German immigrants, suffered from a patchwork of interventions over the years which obscured its original grandeur. Laudate Sacred Art developed a design which respects the church’s existing architectural beauty.

Whites and grays unify the interior while gold highlights to the columns and corbels add brilliance.
The crucifix was given greater prominence in the newly redesigned sanctuary.

A Latin text was inscribed in gold above the central arch:
TU+ES+PETRUS+ET+SUPER+HANC+PETRAM

+AEDIFICABO+ECCLESIAM+MEUM

and echoed by the inscription on band in the apse: ET+PORTAE+INFERI+NON+PRAEVALEBUNT+ADVERSUM+EAM

The design for the black and white tile floor enlivened St. Peter’s Church while staying within budget.
